On Sunday, August 16, 2020 Jeff Neff and some friends put on a picnic a Walker Park to show their appreciation for our first responders. The event was very well attended and the weather was beatiful. Leetsdale VFD was represented by President Jim Ivancic and Treasurer Jon Biteler.
Pictured on the left is Leetsdale firefighter Bill Crago. Bill is being presented with a case of AA batteries from Duracell. A lot of our equipment utilize AA batteries so this donation will go a long way in saving us money.
On August 13, 2020 @ 5:50 PM Sewickley VFD requested assistance from Leetsdale, Fair Oaks, Aleppo Twp. and Emsworth VFD's for a possible residential structure fire on Centennial Avenue. Sewickley's chief arrived on scene quickly and found a microwave oven that had been on fire.
This is from about a month ago. Leetsdale, Sewickley and Fair Oaks VFD's responded to this accident and found two trapped with injuries. Access was made by removing the side of the car.

On August 2, 2020 @ 8:54 PM Fair Oaks VFD requested Leetsdale firefighters to assist with a roadblock at Camp Meeting and Spenser Lane in Leet Twp. due to a tree partially blocking the road and laying on power lines.
On Friday, July 31 @ 2:50 PM, Leetsdale, Fair Oaks and Sewickley VFD's were dispatched to a fire alarm at 601 Riverside Place in the Leetsdale Industrial Park. Crews arrived to find a smoke detector set off in the air duct work.
First responders are being hit and killed or injured on Americas highways. PLEASE, when you approach an accident scene, emergency medical scene, police scene a tow truck or construction zone, you are required to move over and slow down.
The Leetsdale Volunteer Firefighters would like to take this opportunity to thank Leetsdale residents Yvonne Kass and Brian Tarasi as well as the Leetsdale Giant Eagle. They donated 15 cases of water to the fire department yesterday.
At around 5:00 AM on 7/28/20 Leetsdale VFD was requested on a 2nd alarm to Ambridge for a working structure fire.With water issues there were many tankers and with the size of the structure there were many departments there.
Congratulations to 14 year old Jr. firefighter Ryan James. Ryan recently completed modules 1,2 and 3 of the training curriculum required by the Pennsylvania State Fire Commissioner at the Allegheny County fire academy.
